The Vatican appears to have recruited more moderate Conciliar leaders like Müller, Barron, Burke and other prelates to first establish their “traditional-bona fides” among faithful Catholics by making surprisingly traditional statements, and then, a few days later, they come out with a strong anti-traditional statements like this nonsensical attack of Muller’s on the SSPX. If someone like Cupich, Tobin, or Roach had made such a statement it would be uniformly ignored by faithful Catholics. But when a cleric who has won them over with early “traditional-sounding” messages they become far more convincing. FSSPX to Continue Lourdes Pilgrimage Despite Bishop’s Restrictions The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (SSPX) has announced that it will continue its annual pilgrimage to Lourdes. Following the episcopal consecrations on July 1 in Ecône, Bishop Jean-Marc Micas of Tarbes and Lourdes withdrew permission for the SSPX to celebrate public Masses, administer sacraments, or organize public prayers at Lourdes. In an August 22 statement, Fr. Gonzague Peignot, superior of the FSSPX in France, announced that the Fraternity intends to continue coming to Lourdes every year, “Our Lady does not deserve to be abandoned despite the obstacles,” he said.
