Cardinal Burke Calls for Vatican Dicastery for Roman Rite Catholics

The “methodology” of the consistories under Leo XIV risks undermining open debate, Cardinal Raymond Burke told Edward Pentin on CardinalNews.substack.com (July 15) [as if the problem were not the content and personnel policy].
Cardinal Burke said dissent in the small groups is excluded because the reports reflect only “what every cardinal agreed upon,” meaning significant minority views may be omitted.
Overall, he described the consistory as a “very controlled” process, with pre-selected discussion leaders and limited opportunities for free intervention.
“Synodality Has to Be Stopped”
Turning to the growing use of “synodality” in the Church, Cardinal Burke questioned its theological and historical basis: “There is no definition of synodality, there’s no history of it in the Church.”
His concern is the merging of established structures, such as consistories, with this undefined concept, “We have to insist that this whole synodality business stop.”
He argued, without laughing, that synodality …མང་བ།

Ontario Catholic schools need to teach knowledge and faith, not ideology

Thomas Sowell is a well known American economist, historian and social theorist. He has written numerous books. In the interview we post below with the Hoover Institution, he offers an evaluation of American public education. Much of it applies to Canada. Sowell believes that much can be done to improve the school system. School choice is an example. His own education took him from a school in Harlem to an Ivy League school. He graduated from Harvard University and went on to finish a master's degree in economics at Columbia University and later a doctorate at the University of Chicago. The central problem he sees in post-modern public schools is the adoption of a progressive ideology at the expense of knowledge and thinking skills. For example, the idea of DIE, diversity, inclusion and equity education sounds like a positive policy, in practice it ends up harming those it's supposed to help. Sowell isn't afraid to speak about race, charter schools, higher education and AI. He believes …

Cardinal Sarah Talks in European Parliament: Europe Is Colonizing Africa Again

Today, Cardinal Robert Sarah delivered an address at the European Parliament in Brussels. He noted that the European Union uses development aid and international agreements to export abortion and gender ideology to African nations.
He spoke of "ideological colonization", arguing that modern Europe increasingly seeks to influence African legislation through trade agreements, development assistance, and diplomatic pressure.
Words Have a Meaning
Opening his address, Sarah questioned whether Europe and Africa still share a common understanding of the language that dominates international diplomacy.
"Can we still understand each other? Do the words we use - human rights, dignity, development, freedom, health, gender, family - still mean the same thing to those who pronounce them in Brussels, Strasbourg, Kampala, or Conakry?"
Inconsistency Is Deliberate
One of his examples is the expression “sexual and reproductive health” that often means abortion. Another example is the term “gender equality …མང་བ།

Bill Gates Says 'Revolutionary' Digital ID Will Exclude 'Non-Compliant' Citizens From Banking, Healthcare and Education

American citizens who want to continue using banking services, healthcare, and education must comply with incoming Digital ID regulations, according to Bill Gates, who has doubled down on his threat to “exclude” the non-compliant from participating in society. Praising digital infrastructure developed in countries such as India and China, Gates declared that the United States must build similar systems with the support of governments, the Federal Reserve, international institutions and private companies. Once established, he says, banks, telecom firms and technology companies can build additional services on top of the digital identity framework, and non-compliant citizens will be locked out of the system. Amnesty International Labelled Catholic Bishops’ Conference “Against Human Rights”

The controversial organisation Amnesty International UK published a report on 8 July listing the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales among 117 organizations it described as part of an “anti-rights movement” in the United Kingdom.
The report, A Growing Threat: the Anti-Rights Movement in the UK, said the listed organizations formed an ecosystem seeking to undermine the rights of women and homosexuals.
It also named the Catholic Medical Association, Premier Christian News, J.K. Rowling’s women-only support service Beira’s Place, and a number of Christian, pro-life, and gender-critical organizations.
The report defined “anti-rights actors” as groups, individuals, and public or private bodies seeking to weaken human rights protections in law and practice.
The publication drew criticism from a number of the organizations named.
Two days after publication, Amnesty International UK withdrew the report. It said the document had been published without passing the organization's …མང་བ།

Leo XIV Accepts Resignation of Peruvian Bishop – Accused of Homosexual Abuse

Today, Leo XIV accepted the resignation of Italian born Bishop Antonio Santarsiero Rosa, 75, of Huacho, Peru. No successor was appointed.
The resignation follows allegations of homosexual misconduct. In April 2026, InfoVaticana.com had reported that complaints had been submitted to the Apostolic Nunciature in Lima and to the Vatican, accusing Santarsiero of homosexually abusing a former minor seminarian and a priest who had served as his secretary.
As usual, Santarsiero has categorically denied all allegations.
The seminarian claimed Santarsiero subjected him to unwanted sexual contact and used promises of scholarships, employment, and opportunities within the diocese to exercise influence over him.
The former secretary to Santarsiero alleges that the bishop subjected him to unwanted physical contact and psychological manipulation. According to the dossier, the priest also claims Santarsiero attempted to discredit him by spreading claims about his sexual orientation after he rejected …མང་བ།

Cardinal Burke: Council Fathers Might Not Have Approved the 1969 Novus Ordo

"It is obviously possible to be fully Catholic while living the sacramental life according to the books of 1962. It is absolutely unacceptable to affirm the contrary", Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke told the organisers of the Chartres pilgrimage ‘Notre-Dame de Chrétienté’ in a July 14 YouTube.com video.
And: "The liturgy according to the usus antiquior of the Roman Rite is an inestimable treasure of the Church which must be preserved and cherished because it is intimately linked to the very identity of the Roman Catholic Church."
Cardinal Burke argued that the Roman rite has proven to be a powerful instrument of evangelization: “It is evident that this liturgy is missionary," he said. "This is seen by its fruits today as in centuries past, because it attracts through its sense of the sacred and transcendence."
He added that this is "particularly evident with the younger generation," which he said has "a profound hunger for the spiritual in an increasingly horizontal world."

Cardinal Müller Misrecites Latin during Ordination: On 4 July, during the ordination of three priests for the Institut du Bon Pasteur in Courtalain, France, Cardinal Müller said "manus" ("hand") instead of "munus" ("office" or "ministry"). The correct wording would have been: "...so that they may persevere in this office."

Cardinal Müller said "manus" instead of "munus.
Müller was supposed to say: “Da, quæsumus, omnipotens Pater, in hos famulos tuos Presbyterii dignitatem; innova in visceribus eorum Spiritum sanctitatis, ut acceptum a Te, Deus, secundi meriti munus obtineant, censuramque morum exemplo suæ conversationis insinuent.” (“Grant, we beseech Thee, Almighty Father, invest these Thy servants with the dignity of the Priesthood; do Thou renew in their hearts the spirit of holiness, so that they may persevere in this office, which is next to ours in dignity, since they have received it from Thee, O God. May the example of their lives lead others to moral uprightness.”)
Instead, Müller actually said: “Da, quæsumus, omnipotens Pater, in hos famulos tuos Presbyterii dignitatem; innova in visceribus eorum Spiritum sanctitatis, ut acceptum a Te, Deus, secundi meriti manus obtineant, censuramque morum exemplo suæ conversationis insinuent.” (“Grant, we beseech Thee, Almighty Father, invest these Thy servants …མང་བ།

A few days ago, in a KTV interview regarding the FSSPX, he stated that it was a "liturgical impossibility" for the Superior General, as a priest, to preach before bishops during an episcopal ordination. And yet, he himself utters an incorrect term during the Consecration. Well, as long as no priest preached there, it certainly isn't a "liturgical impossibility" according to the Cardinal's definition....

France's National Assembly Passes Bill Legalizing Euthanasia - LifeNews.com

Sylvie Corbet reported for The Associated Press on July 15 that the Prime Minister and the Senate President will refer the bill to the Constitutional Council. Corbet wrote: Senate President Gérard Larcher and Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu said they will refer the bill, once adopted, to the Constitutional Council, which will have up to a month to determine whether it complies with the Constitution. The law would only enter into force once that review has been completed. President Emmanuel Macron and the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet both support legalizing euthanasia and they have pressured members of the National Assembly to support it. Similar to Canada, France’s bill legalizes both euthanasia and assisted suicide. The Canadian data indicates that nearly every assisted death was the doctor administering the poison (euthanasia) rather than the person self-administering the poison (assisted suicide). Also, like Canada, France’s healthcare system will cover the …

THIS 1929 REFRIGERATOR WORKED WITHOUT ELECTRICITY
-The Crosley IcyBall had no moving parts.
-All it took was to heat one end for about 90 minutes on a stove or a kerosene burner.
-Then it produced more than 24 hours of cold inside the icebox.
-No electricity. No gas. No compressor.
-Just a simple and robust absorption principle.
At the time, it was marketed for rural areas that had neither electricity nor gas.
Some period advertisements even said: “Ice from heat” for only 2 cents per day.
And that’s not all: during a fire that destroyed an entire block of houses, an IcyBall continued to produce ice while everything around it was charred.
Why did this kind of simple, durable technology independent of electricity disappear once the electric grid spread and took over?

Theatre: 'Catholic' Prime Minister Challenges Euthanasia in Macron’s Constitutional Council

French Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, has announced that the government's assisted dying bill will be referred to the Constitutional Council following its expected final approval in the National Assembly on 15 July.
This will not prevent the law from being adopted, but it will delay its implementation until the highest constitutional authority in France has ruled on its compliance with the Constitution.
Three issues may receive particular scrutiny:
- The waiting period until death: Whether a minimum waiting period of two days between approval and confirmation is adequate for such an irreversible decision.
- Protected adults: Whether people under guardianship or curatorship are sufficiently protected and capable of giving genuine informed consent.
- Conscience clause: Doctors, nurses and healthcare institutions should have sufficient rights to refuse participation.
As prime minister, Lecornu should have stopped this project, as he has done with many others.

Pope Leo Accepts Resignation Of Bishop Investigated For Sexual Abuse

Pope Leo XIV has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the diocese of Huacho (Peru) presented by Monsignor Antonio Santarsiero Rosa, O.S.I., as reported this Tuesday by the Holy See Press Office. The decision comes just over a month after the prelate turned 75, on June 13, the age at which canon law requires bishops to submit their resignation to the Pope. The Vatican statement offers no explanation regarding the acceptance of the resignation and makes no reference to the complaints that have come to light in recent months. The acceptance of the resignation comes three months after InfoVaticana revealed a complaint of alleged sexual abuse of a minor and a deacon against the prelate. Following the publication of the information, the Peruvian Episcopal Conference announced that Santarsiero was temporarily stepping down as secretary general of the episcopate to facilitate the clarification of the facts and confirmed the activation of the procedures provided for by …
