Our Lady of La Salette Described by Melanie, the Little Seer
by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira
Saint of the Day, Monday, September 19, 1966
Today, September 19, is the feast of the apparition of Our Lady of La Salette. Duramey’s book, “Les plus beaux textes sur la Vierge,” carries this statement by Mélanie, the girl who saw Our Lady.
“Appearance: The Blessed Virgin was tall and well proportioned. She looked so light that a breath could hit her, yet she remained motionless and unalterable. Her physiognomy was majestic, imposing, but not imposing as those of the grandees of the earth. She imposed respectful fear while her majesty imposed respect mixed with love. She attracted.
Everything around her and in her person inspired majesty, splendor, and the magnificence of an incomparable queen. She looked beautiful, clear, immaculate, crystalline, heavenly. She also seemed to me like a good mother full of goodness, kindness, love, compassion and mercy for us.”

"Leo XIV is building a homosexual church by personnel"
Democrat Christopher Hale, a liberal "Catholic", draws attention to the pro-homosexual record of Pope Leo XIV’s episcopal appointments. This week, Leo XIV chose Bischof Michael Saporito - known for his outreach to homosexuals - to lead the Diocese of Metuchen. Hale notes that “Leo’s method is personnel.” He then writes: “One diocese at a time, he is choosing the men who decide whether a gay Catholic in Middlesex County finds the church door open.” And: “Pope Leo XIV is building a church where that welcome is policy, and the tool he has chosen is the men he names.” Hale lists the bishops Thomas Hennen, Ramón Bejarano, James Checchio, Michael Saporito, and Germany’s Christian Würtz, while also citing other personnel choices as part of the same broader pattern.

Leo XIV has named another LGBT-inclusive bishop to lead a diocese of 670,000 Catholics. Bishop Michael Saporito, who served under Cardinal Joseph Tobin, led a parish that welcomed gay Catholics and their families. He also participated in private dialogues with LGBT Catholics, saying he “felt enriched by the exchange of personal stories.”

SAINT JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO - September 18
Priest
(1603-1663)

St. Joseph of Cupertino is a patron saint of struggling students. He was awkward, stumbling in conversation and difficult to teach. His wonderment at God's creation and the sight of God that took his mind were misunderstood by many, which did not help his case among religious. He is venerated as a mystic and a saint.
St. Joseph grew up in poverty and without a father. He was so socially difficult and unlearned that he was expelled from the Friars Minor Conventual at the convent of Grotella. He was only readmitted as a caretaker at their stable. God never abandoned St. Joseph and gave His servant grace to be joyful in the simplest, most basic tasks and responsibilities. St. Joseph was finally ordained a priest when the only question on his examination was about the one Scripture passage he could discourse on eloquently.
St. Joseph had command over beasts and nature like his predecessor St. Francis. He only occasionally ate solid …વધારે

St. Joseph Cupertino, September, 18th.
AdPaul Priest (1603-1663) Joseph of Cupertino, born of pious parents, as a youth was noted for his chastity. He was admitted among the Friars Minor Conventual at the convent of Grotella, first as a lay brother because of his lack of formal education, then, by divine intervention, as a cleric.
After being ordained a priest, he afflicted his body with hairshirts, disciplines and all kinds of austerities. His spirit in truth he fed constantly with the nourishment of holy prayer, whence it came about that he was called by God to the highest level of contemplation.
Notable for his obedience and for his practice of poverty, he cultivated chastity especially, which he preserved intact despite violent temptations.
He honored the Virgin Mary with a wonderful love and shone with great charity toward the poor.
So great was his humility that, considering himself a great sinner, he earnestly besought God to remove from him his wonderful gifts.

French military chaplain Romain Ghandou has sparked a political storm, with a prominent left-wing politician calling for his imprisonment.
The video is from a 7 Oct 2025 Mass at Carcassonne Cathedral, before soldiers of the 3rd Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment (3e RPIMa).
“Calm down, leftists! Breathe through your nose,” Ghandou said, drawing laughter and applause. He attacked “liars,” “incompetents” and those who “lecture everyone.”
He urged soldiers to “keep fighting” and have “the courage of your convictions,” warning that otherwise France would be ridiculed and “others will take our place.”
Le Canard enchaîné publicised the footage Friday, sparking outrage on the left. Jean-Luc Mélenchon, founder of La France Insoumise (France Unbowed), alleged “racist insults” and said: “His place is in prison.”
Le Canard linked the sermon to the “Great Replacement,” though Ghandou does not use that phrase in the published excerpt.

Sydney Archbishop: Homosexuals Mocked Catholic Faith
Sydney Archbishop Anthony Fisher noted the producers of a homosexual performance staged inside a former Catholic church on Kent Street deliberately mocked the Catholic faith.
Writing in CatholicWeekly.com.au on July 28, a week after hundreds of Catholics gathered outside the venue to pray the Rosary, Archbishop Fisher rejected claims that the show was simply artistic expression.
The performances were "not neutral expressions of art" but "a deliberate appropriation, sexualisation, and denigration of symbols and rituals specific and sacred to the Catholic faith."
The archbishop cited promotional images showing a pig offering McDonald's fries as the "Body of Christ," male performers dressed as nuns, and events titled "Sunday Mess" and "Unholy Confessions." He considered claims - that the production was not intended to mock Catholics - were "unpersuasive."
"For Catholics, the Eucharist is not a cultural motif available for parody," Fisher …વધારે

Israeli Settler Who Attacked French Catholic Nun Acquitted
The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court has acquitted Yona Simcha Schreiber, 36, of criminal responsibility for a violent attack on a French Catholic nun in April.
The court accepted psychiatric evidence that he was psychotic at the time of the assault. He could neither understand the nature of his actions nor control them, the court ruled.
He was ordered to undergo compulsory psychiatric hospitalization for up to six years.
The attack occurred on Mount Zion, near King David’s Tomb outside Jerusalem’s Old City. Security footage showed Schreiber running toward the 48-year-old nun from behind and knocking her violently to the ground, causing her head to strike the stone pavement.
Schreiber initially walked away before returning and kicking the nun while she remained on the ground. He also assaulted a passerby who attempted to intervene.
The victim is a researcher at the Dominican-run École Biblique et Archéologique Française de Jérusalem. …વધારે

Leo XIV Accepts Secularised Mitre as Gift: Rev. Tom McCarthy, a Chicago priest and fellow Augustinian, gave Leo XIV a Chicago White Sox “Pope Hat” at the Vatican. The mitre-shaped hat was originally produced en masse by the Chicago White Sox baseball team as a giveaway for their August 11 game. Leo XIV has been a White Sox fan since childhood and attended Game 1 of the 2005 World Series.

The Redemption of Man and the Rejection of “Holy Sex”
A Patristic and Scholastic Disputation Against the Modern Exaltation of Carnal Pleasure
“The first man Adam was made into a living soul; the last Adam into a quickening spirit.”
—1 Corinthians 15:45
Prologue: The Question Before Us
There is a fundamental question which must be asked before we speak of the holiness of sexual pleasure:
What is man?
And immediately after that:
What became of man through the Fall?
For if we begin with fallen man as though his present condition were the standard of human nature, we shall inevitably mistake the wounds of the Fall for the original design of God.
This is precisely the danger in the modern exaltation of sexuality.
The question is no longer merely:
"Is marital intercourse lawful?"
The Catholic tradition already answers that question.
The more profound question is:
"What ought the Christian to desire within the marital act?"
And here a profound difference appears between the ascetical tradition …વધારે

Leo XIV’s Prayer Intention Is … for the Care of Water: In September 2026, Leo XIV invites Catholics around the world to pray for the care of water. In his monthly prayer intention, he reminds Christians that access to clean water should be a right. “We beg forgiveness that it has been turned into a commodity, forgetting that it is a universal gift, a right without borders.” He encourages Christians to reject waste and pollution and to use natural resources responsibly. Caring for water, he says, is both an expression of love for creation and an act of solidarity with the poor.

The Pope’s Prayer intention for the month of September is to pray for care of water: “Lord of Life, you have given us the gift of water, source of fruitfulness, freshness, and hope. It quenches thirst, nourishes the earth, and heals wounds. We thank you because it is also a symbol of your grace and love that renews us through baptism. Today, we ask you to teach us to safeguard it with gratitude, justice, and responsibility. Forgive us for turning it into a commodity, forgetting that it is a universal gift, a right without borders, meant for all your children. We see with pain, so many brothers and sisters, who lack clean water, who walk for miles to find it, who become ill due to its scarcity. May your Spirit make us pilgrims of the essential, able to live with simplicity, denouncing waste and pollution, defending the right of every brother and sister to drink without fear and without inequality. May our care for water, be a sign of love for the Creator, and a commitment to the lives of …વધારે

Hiroshima must remain forever in humanity's memory as a warning, not a precedent. Behind that explosion lay lives, families, dreams, and generations scarred by a pain that should never be repeated. No conflict, ideology, or pursuit of power can justify such a tragedy. May the memory of Hiroshima help us understand that, given our capacity for self-destruction, peace, dialogue, and reason are not merely options—they are a responsibility we owe to humanity and to generations yet to come. Never again a nuclear war.

“Conservative” Auxiliary Bishop Josef Graf of Regensburg, Germany, can envision ordaining married men to the priesthood.
Monsignor Graf made this remarks during a holiday in San Genesio, South Tyrol, where he also helped with the grape harvest in a local vineyard.
He told Bz-bx.net: “I personally believe that the Church could afford viri probati”.
He added that married priests would probably not solve the shortage of priests.
On the ordination of women to the priesthood, Monsignor Graf said he believes it is “not possible.” He pointed there are “still” weighty theological reasons for reserving Holy Orders to men.

Oddly enough, I can 'envision' waking up and discovering a Church which nurtures vocations by holding to the Faith rather than deviating from it to suit the needs of prelates who should never have been ordained in the first place.

JANET ZIMMER

Mature married men have worked out as well in the parishes founded by Anglicans who converted to Catholicism and, of course, historically in the Eastern Churches, so I don't see what people are worrying about. As long as they don't offer ordination to married men under the age of, say, 45 or 50, I think they'd make an excellent and much needed source of new priests.
