War Against the Ancient Mass Is Destructive for the Church - Cardinal Sarah

When the generation of the ’68ers passes away, the unfounded, one-sided attitudes against Latin and Gregorian chant will pass away as well, Cardinal Robert Sarah told IlGiornale.it on August 27.
Benedict XVI’s liberalization of the Traditional Latin Mass had a positive and even corrective influence on abuses in the celebration of the Novus Ordo, Cardinal Sarah said.
“Many priests testify that discovering the Extraordinary Form helped them to celebrate better.”
Furthermore, the faithful could choose which form corresponded more closely to the fostering of the faith.
“But all of this was brought to an abrupt end by Traditionis Custodes while the Pope Emeritus was still alive.”
Francis’ restrictions on the Latin Mass were “neither a wise nor a respectful choice.”
Cardinal Sarah added that access to “ritual forms that have existed for centuries can never be artificially restricted by decrees.”
Without referring explicitly to the Novus Ordo, Sarah noted that a rite that did not serve the …Zambiri

How Leo XIV Is Consolidating Francis’ Opening to Women in Vatican Leadership

Pope Francis broke with Vatican tradition by putting women into positions long reserved in practice for clerics. Leo XIV is now turning that breakthrough into routine.
In little more than a year, he has confirmed women appointed by his predecessor, promoted others and named numerous women to positions across the Vatican.
Italian media have noticed. They repeatedly reach for the colour pink: the Vatican “turns pink,” while headlines speak of a “Vaticano in rosa” and “nomine rosa” — “pink appointments.”
Here are the many women Leo XIV has appointed, promoted or confirmed so far.
Raffaella Petrini - Governor of Vatican City
Francis appointed Sister Raffaella Petrini president of the Governorate of Vatican City State and president of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State shortly before his death.
Leo XIV did more than simply leave her there. In November 2025, he modified Vatican City’s Fundamental Law so that the presidency of the Pontifical Commission no longer had to be held by …Zambiri

Leo XIV: "Novus Ordo Rooted in and Respected the Tradition of Church"

At today’s General Audience, Leo XIV praised the failed liturgical reform after Vatican II.
He quoted extensively from a letter by the future Paul VI, Cardinal Montini, dated October 1962. He wrote that the faithful “cannot and must no longer remain silent and passive”.
No Participation: Novus Ordo Churches Empty
Leo XIV added that “the participation of the faithful cannot be passive”. The Conciliar reform “was intended to allow the liturgy to shine forth”.
He believes there was “the need to make the richness of the biblical texts and prayers more accessible to all the faithful”.
"Necessary" to Revise Liturgy
Furthermore, Leo XIV claims that the liturgy “has always been subject to developments and changes”.
“It is therefore not surprising that the Second Vatican Council too, with the utmost respect for the heritage of tradition, and precisely in order to make it more accessible, considered it necessary to revise the liturgical books.”
According to Leo XIV, “the liturgical reform promoted …Zambiri

Leo XIV: “A radical reform of the liturgical rites was not in fact necessary in order to make the liturgy more accessible after the Second Vatican Council — a reality that the full, conscious, actual and extraordinarily fruitful participation in the unreformed rites today makes perfectly clear.”

The question is wheher "the liturgical reform promoted by Vat II" is rooted (even a little bit) in Vat II. IMHO, no, it is not.

Starbucks employees expose that Starbucks is using “blending powder” in many of their newer drinks This new powder was just introduced this month. If you drink Starbucks you should be concerned about this. This “blending powder” consists of Gum arabic, maltodextrin, xanthan gum, natural flavor, silica and stevia extract (rebaudioside-A)
The reason they use it is because it acts as an emulsifier and stabilizer. The gums and other components create a smoother, more consistent frozen blended texture and slows separation that would otherwise happen soon after the drink leaves the blender Starbucks employees have been making videos saying it makes their throats hurt, makes them cough and makes their head hurt.

Two pastors in South Korea have been fined 1 million won (about €620) each after loudly preaching on a domestic flight from Jeju to Seoul. They shouted that passengers would “go to hell” if they did not believe in Jesus, while one moved around the cabin. They continued despite instructions from the cabin crew to stop. A Seoul court found that their conduct constituted a disturbance under South Korea’s Aviation Security Act.

The court said the 64-year-old pastor stood in the aisle despite repeated attempts by crew members to stop him and shouted at passengers, “You will go to hell if you don’t believe in Jesus.”

Under canon law, the competent authority had 30 days to respond. With that period now expired without a decision, the FSSPX can proceed to the next stage of its canonical challenge. Canon 1735 provides that when no decision is issued within the prescribed 30 days, the time limit for presenting hierarchical recourse begins to run from the 30th day.

Leo’s liturgical problem: SSPX and the Latin Mass

VATICAN CITY (Per Mariam) — The return of Pope Leo from his summer vacation serves as a useful moment for both the pontiff and the wider Church to take stock of his pontificate after another year, with a number of key agenda items demanding his early attention. As the motorcade departed the papal villas in Castel Gandolfo on the evening of July 27, Vatican observers began to resume their normal posts as Leo’s return to the Vatican signalled the pope’s return to work. This year he took nearly the full month of July for a personal holiday, and though it was interspersed with some lighter duties and trips to pilgrimage spots, it was overall a period of quiet. No official meetings or audiences were scheduled and it is the longest single block of time that Leo has spent away from work since he was elected – last summer he took two separate and shorter holidays at Castel Gandolfo. Never Compromise Truth To Fit In
The gospel reading criticizes the scribes and Pharisees for their hypocrisy: they appear righteous on the outside but lack true righteousness. This serves as a reminder to stay true to God’s objective truth, even when it contradicts societal norms or public opinion. We must avoid compromising our beliefs to fit in, as this leads to a loss of truth and a disordered life.

Leo XIV to Lutheran Lay-Bishops: We Have a “Shared Mission in the World”

Today, Leo XIV welcomed the Lutheran State Bishops of Norway in audience.
Referring to the fallen human condition, Leo XIV said it is “all too easy to adopt an attitude of hostility toward those with whom we disagree”.
That is why he seeks – at least with Protestants – “concrete paths of reconciliation and of fraternity”.
Leo XIV recalled Christ’s prayer for the unity of his disciples.
Key phrase: “Grounded in our common Baptism and our shared mission in the world, I pray that we may always grow together in our service to the promotion of peace and justice.”

Ecumenism sounds nice, but it does not work. Much dialogue has produced hardly any converts to Catholicis, while there have been countless apostate Catholics who have become non-Catholic.

Perhaps the Superior General of the FSSPX should have declared himself a “Lutheran Bishop” from Norway, so he could have joined this delegation in Private Audience with Leo. Hmmm? 🤔

Chinese Underground Church Consecrated 10 Bishops without Papal Mandate

After the 2018 Sino-Vatican agreement “terrible things happen to Catholics” in the Fujian province, an anonymous Chinese bishop who is unaffiliated with the Chinese state church ‘Patriotic Association’, told Anthony Clark for CatholicWorldReport.com on August 23.
The bishop speaks of a “state of emergency”.
As government influence over the bishops increases, “the integrity of the Catholic faith will suffer.” To “assure the survival of China’s Church,” new bishops have been “secretly consecrated.”
The bishop says the faithful question Rome’s genuine concern for their “spiritual well-being” when the Holy See approves government-selected bishops whom they regard as too reliable to the state.
The number is unknown, but he suggested that “at least ten new bishops” were consecrated for the underground community in the Fujian province.

Mexican Bishop Bans Laypeople from Assuming Clerical Roles in Liturgy

A Mexican bishop has issued a decree restricting laypeople from assuming roles proper to ordained ministers in liturgical celebrations.
Bishop Carlos Enrique Samaniego López of Texcoco issued the decree on 10 August, citing “irregular practices” that distort the priestly ministry and the sacred character of liturgical acts.
It prohibits former seminarians, religious, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion and other faithful not instituted in the stable ministry of acolyte from presiding over celebrations of the Word, funeral rites, sacramentals or other liturgical acts proper to ordained ministers.
It also forbids non-clerics from wearing the alb or “any sacred ornament or vestment reserved uniquely and exclusively to the clergy”, both within and outside liturgical celebrations.
The bishop expressed concern about celebrations held in halls, gardens and other unapproved locations by “pseudo ordained ministers” and “celebrants”.

- James Checchio (New Orleans): he supported homosexual propaganda as bishop of Metuchen, New Jersey.
- Ramón Bejarano (Monterey, California): he presided over homosexual Eucharists as auxiliary bishop in San Diego, including transvestites in the liturgy.
- Christian Würtz (Eichstätt, Germany): he supported “blessings” for homosexuals and changes to biblical teaching on homosexuality.
- Thomas Hennen (Baker, Oregon): he drafted pro-homosexual “pastoral” guidelines.

Pope Leo XIV’s LGBTQ-Friendly Appointments Include Bishop Invited Drag Queen to Mass

The first American Pope has made room for progressive LGBTQ+ voices in several recent high-profile appointments, per an analysis in the popular Substack Letters from Leo, written by former Obama staffer Christopher Hale. In February, Pope Leo XIV officially appointed Bishop James Checchio as leader of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, per a blogpost from New Ways Ministry, a Catholic outreach organization that “educates and advocates for equity, inclusion, and justice for LGBTQ+ persons.” Checchio had been in line to take over the role informally since September 2025, per EWTN News. Checchio, who had previously led the Metuchen Diocese in New Jersey, made LGBTQ+ outreach a priority with at least two of the 75 parishes under his jurisdiction known to be explicitly LGBTQ+-friendly, according to New Ways Ministry: Sacred Heart Parish in South Plainfield and St. Joseph Parish in Hillsborough. Not only did Checcio support a group for LGBTQ+ Catholics in his diocese, he attended their 2016 …
