I am reminded occasionally from well-meaning (or not?) friends, that the first sin in the garden was disobedience, so obedience to pope is important. The whole thing about obedience vs disobedience has worn me out. Recently, it hit me (I hope and believe that this was the Holy Spirit revealing something to give me peace) that Adam and Eve did not disobey the pope, but God Himself. One tiny little directive He gave them was disobeyed, and the result was expulsion and toil for the rest of their lives. Expulsion from this church is beginning to look more and more like a badge of faithfulness. It has been years since I heard the term "Roman Catholic Church".
