A City of London Banker Takes the Helm at the Vatican Bank: On 15 July, the Vatican's Institute for the Works of Religion (IOR) announced the appointment of Giovanni Boscia as its next Director General. He will take office on 1 October, succeeding Gian Franco Mammì after eleven years. Unlike his predecessor, who spent his entire career within the IOR, Boscia comes from international finance. Before joining the Vatican in 2019, he spent nearly three decades in the City of London with leading global investment banks, including Wall Street firms Salomon Brothers and Citigroup, as well as RBS and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Bishop AGUER about novus ordo : "This and other doctrinal, moral and disciplinary disasters emptied the seminaries and convents; triggered massive desertions in the clergy and religious life, and unleashed a bleeding in the Church."
Entire statement in Spanish below.

Cardinal Burke: Council Fathers Might Not Have Approved the 1969 Novus Ordo

"It is obviously possible to be fully Catholic while living the sacramental life according to the books of 1962. It is absolutely unacceptable to affirm the contrary", Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke told the organisers of the Chartres pilgrimage ‘Notre-Dame de Chrétienté’ in a July 14 YouTube.com video.
And: "The liturgy according to the usus antiquior of the Roman Rite is an inestimable treasure of the Church which must be preserved and cherished because it is intimately linked to the very identity of the Roman Catholic Church."
Cardinal Burke argued that the Roman rite has proven to be a powerful instrument of evangelization: “It is evident that this liturgy is missionary," he said. "This is seen by its fruits today as in centuries past, because it attracts through its sense of the sacred and transcendence."
He added that this is "particularly evident with the younger generation," which he said has "a profound hunger for the spiritual in an increasingly horizontal world."

Given they rejected the '65 they most certainly would have rejected the NO. PaulVI was dupped or complicit in ramrodding the NO mess through. The revolutionaries even gave him a draft which did not include the Roman Canon. He insisted on its inclusion saying it would not be a Roman Rite without it - Euch. Prayer 1. Many NOs don't use the Roman Canon now anyway.

Solo Dios …Lahi ange

IRGC claims strikes on US drone depot and AI hub in Bahrain

Tehran has warned that the Strait of Hormuz remains “extremely unsafe and completely closed” amid ongoing US aggression Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it destroyed a depot housing American unmanned surface vessels and the “main artificial intelligence center” in Bahrain in retaliation for US strikes on Iranian bridges and other civilian infrastructure. In a statement issued on Friday evening, the IRGC said it had struck a depot housing American USVs in Bahrain during the 17th wave of its retaliatory Operation Nasr 2, claiming that “a large number” of the vessels had been burned and destroyed. “Furthermore, the main artificial intelligence (AI) center in Bahrain, which was being used by the Great Satan for enemy targeting to commit war crimes, was completely destroyed by several ballistic missiles and dozens of drones,” the force claimed. Neither the US nor Bahrain has officially confirmed any destruction resulting from the reported attacks. Bahrain …

Chapter XX ~ Diversity of the Pains — King Sancho and Queen Guda — St. Lidwina and the Soul Transpierced — Blessed Margaret Mary and the Bed of Fire.
According to the saints, there is great diversity in the corporal pains of Purgatory. Although fire is the principal instrument of torture, there is also the torment of cold, the torture of the members, and the torture applied to the different senses of the human body. This diversity of suffering seems to correspond to the nature of the sins, each one of which demands its own punishment, according to these words : Quia per quce peccat quis, per hac et torquetur — " By what things a man sinneth, by the same also is he tormented."1 It is just that it should be so with regard to the chastisement, since the same diversity exists in the distribution of the reward. In Heaven each one receives according to his works, and, as Venerable Bede says, each one receives his crown, his robe of glory. For the martyr this robe is of a rich purple colour, …Lahi ange

26 Years Later: Why Jeanette Hall Is Still Grateful to Be Alive: In Oregon, USA, on July 17, 2000, Jeanette Hall was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Believing she had no future, she asked her doctor for assisted suicide under Oregon's newly enacted law. Instead of writing the prescription, Dr. Kenneth Stevens took the time to understand her fears and encouraged her to consider treatment. One question changed everything: "Wouldn't you like to see your son graduate from the police academy?" Jeanette chose treatment. She survived, attended her son's graduation, and years later told Dr. Stevens: "You saved my life. If I had gone to a doctor that believed in assisted suicide, I would not be here."

Vatican Prefect Praises Francis-Alligned Women as "Great Help" in Selecting Bishops

The contribution of three women - two religious sisters and one laywoman - at the Dicastery for Bishops is "highly valued and important," the Prefect, Archbishop Filippo Iannone, told Glas-Koncila.hr on July 14.
As head of the Dicastery for Bishops, Monsignor Iannone oversees the Vatican office responsible for evaluating candidates for bishopric. However, many of these appointments are very controversial and difficult to justify from a Catholic perspective. Appointments are one of the most important ways in which a pope exercises governance and reveals his true priorities.
Francis announced in July 2022 that women would become members of the Dicastery for Bishops for the first time in history. He then appointed Sr. Raffaella Petrini, Sr. Yvonne Reungoat and María Lía Zervino.
Leo XIV retained the reform by confirming Petrini and Zervino as members and appointing Sr. Simona Brambilla. Reungoat's term ended.
All four women are closely associated with the Francis-era deform agenda and its …Lahi ange

Cardinal Sarah Hails Leo XIV on Latin Mass, Only Bishops Are Problem

Talking to Diane Montagna on July 16, Cardinal Robert Sarah argues that Leo XIV wants to allow the Roman rite, but fails because of the bishops and that the pope will be “very prudent” about the dissemination of the pro-homosexual final text of the synod's Study Group Number 9.
On Leo XIV's letter to the French bishops
"It seems to me that the Holy Father did well to write to the French Bishops, encouraging them to be more open to the traditional Mass, because it is a Mass we have celebrated for centuries."
Follow what Leo XIV says
"I think that what was written to the French Bishops must apply to all bishops: be more open, so as not to create division for no reason."
"We must follow what Pope Leo says - that is, not be so averse toward something holy, something beautiful, something conducive to recollection."
Traditionis Custodes should be abrogated
"Yes, let's hope so. This depends on the Holy Father's decision, but perhaps the Holy Father could be helped. If, for example, in a Consistory …Lahi ange

Cardinal Robert Sarah questioned whether the Church has authority to suppress the Traditional Latin Mass and urged bishops to be more open to the faithful devoted to it.

The word salad Cardinal Sarah is talking about:
Finally, dear brothers, you intend to address the delicate theme of the Liturgy, to which the Holy Father is particularly attentive, in the context of the growth of communities attached to the Vetus Ordo. It is troubling that a painful wound continues to open in the Church concerning the celebration of the Mass, the very sacrament of unity. To heal it, a fresh regard from each person toward the other, with a greater understanding of the other's sensibility, is surely needed — a regard that could allow brothers enriched by their diversity to welcome one another mutually, in charity and in the unity of faith. May the Holy Spirit suggest to you concrete solutions that would generously include those sincerely attached to the Vetus Ordo, while respecting the orientations set forth by the Second Vatican Council regarding the Liturgy. --Cardinal Pietro Parolin

Both “gender ideology and Islamic fundamentalism” are “apocalyptic beasts” which seek to destroy the family, humanity and the image of God, Cardinal Robert Sarah said this week at the European Parliament.
“The crisis of the Church in the West and the crisis of the West itself are, at heart, one and the same crisis,” attested the cardinal during an address he gave at the European Parliament on Wednesday afternoon. “It is because the Church in many European nations has lost its identity, its prophetic voice, that the West itself has lost the meaning of its own civilisation.”

We'd have to hear the whole speech, but I wonder why he says that being a Synodal Church means recognizing that we don't possess the truth but must seek it together. What truth is he referring to? Isn't the Church the pillar and foundation of truth?

The primate of Belgium, Archbishop Luc Terlinden, called for ordaining married men to the priesthood

Brussels Archbishop: "Married Priests Would Be an Enrichment"

Last weekend, Archbishop Luc Terlinden of Mechelen-Brussels, Belgium, attended the General Synod of the Anglican Church of England in York.
He was there to find out more about how synodality is practised there. "It functions like a parliament. That fits with the long English tradition. There is a chair and a secretary. Sitting beside them is a lawyer wearing one of those traditional wigs", he told Nd.nl on 15 July.
"We are asking ourselves how synodality - the participation of all the faithful - relates to the collegiality of the bishops. As a bishop, I am convinced that a balance must be found between these two realities."
Bishop Terlinden added that the bishop or the Pope always has the final say, which makes sense to him: "At the same time, I very much identify with the words that Pope Leo XIV recently addressed to the cardinals: 'I must listen before I lead and learn before I teach.'"

FSSPX Responds: Excommunications "Unjust and Invalid"

Today, Don Davide Pagliarani, Superior of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX), responded to the 2 July decree of excommunication. It "once again highlights the deeply tragic situation facing the universal Church."
He claims that the FSSPX's actions are motivated solely by the desire to save souls and insists that the Fraternity does not seek to replace the Church, but to remain faithful to her.
Using the biblical imagery of asking for bread, fish, and an egg (cf. Luke 11:11–13), he says the Fraternity's requests were met with rejection, symbolised by receiving a stone, serpent, and scorpion.
According to Pagliarani, the FSSPX had asked to be instructed and confirmed in "the faith of all time", yet was instead declared schismatic for a second time.
His central statement is this: "The FSSPX promises You today that it will not receive these new sanctions - objectively unjust and invalid - with bitterness or revolt."
Don Pagliarani concludes by expressing confidence that one …Lahi ange
